I created NIBA Designs to solve a very real problem in the rug design business.
My interest in rugs began years ago when I opened a home accessories showroom in the Miami Design District. Rugs were one of the many products I offered. After a couple of years of designing, marketing and selling rugs, it was clear to me that there was a void in the rug industry – there were no rug companies dedicated solely to the design trade.
As an interior designer, I found most carpet brands simply maintained inventories of dated-looking designs and offered minimal customer service. There was nowhere to easily shop an array of styles or explore creating my own bespoke designs for clients in the supportive atmosphere I desired.
I set out to change this industry narrative, and I soon focused all of my attention on rugs. Through my travels around the globe, I developed a lasting love for color, pattern, and texture. And naturally, this love drew me further into the world of custom designed rugs.
In 2005, I launched NIBA Designs – my vision of what a luxury rug company should be. Our rug consultants collaborate with the highest caliber interior designers and architects to create custom rug designs for every room of their projects.
Our core values – partnership, education, transparency, respect, responsiveness, custom design, exclusivity, expediency and unshakable ethics – remain just as strong today as they were when we started.
With nearly 20 years of expertise and education in the rug industry, we’ve developed very strong relationships with our overseas mills, and we pride ourselves on authenticity in pricing, fibers, construction and lead-times.
